About Iyengar Yoga

B.K.S.Iyengar developed this hatha yoga style, which stresses understanding the body and how it works. Students focus on symmetry and alignment, using props such as belts blocks, blankets and chairs to achieve postures. Each pose is held for a longer amount of time than most other yoga styles. Iyengar yoga focuses on precision, it helps improve strength, flexibility and balance, requiring the practioner to be in the present moment. www.bksiyengar.com
